Empress Cakery Ltd – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all orders placed with Empress Cakery Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an order, you agree to the following terms.
1. Ordering Notice
We require a minimum of 14 days’ notice for all orders.
Last-minute or same-day orders may be accepted at our discretion and will be subject to a rush fee, depending on availability and design complexity.
An order is not confirmed until a deposit has been received.
2. Deposits & Payment
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.
Dates are not reserved until the deposit has been paid.
The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to collection or delivery.
No product will be released until full payment has cleared.
3. Cancellations
Deposits are strictly non-refundable.
If an order is cancelled:
More than 7 days before collection – deposit retained.
Less than 7 days before collection – full balance may be payable due to preparation and material costs.
Date changes may be accommodated at our discretion, subject to availability.
4. Delivery
Delivery is available for an additional fee.
Delivery charges vary depending on distance and will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Once the cake has been delivered and set up (if applicable), responsibility transfers to the customer.
5. Collection
Collection details will be provided once full payment has been received.
It is the customer’s responsibility to transport the cake safely.
We are not liable for any damage that occurs after collection.
6. Design & Custom Orders
All cakes are bespoke and handmade. While we aim to match inspiration images provided, exact replication is not guaranteed.
Minor variations in colour, decoration, or finish may occur.
The final design is at the discretion of Empress Cakery.
7. Allergies & Dietary Requirements
Our kitchen handles common allergens including nuts, gluten, dairy, eggs, soy and sesame.
It is the customer’s responsibility to inform us of any allergies at the time of ordering.
We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
8. Storage & Care
Cakes should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
We are not responsible for damage caused by incorrect storage or environmental conditions after collection or delivery.
9. Photography
We reserve the right to photograph our cakes for promotional purposes unless the customer requests otherwise in writing.
10. Liability
Our liability is limited to the value of the cake ordered.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Empress Cakery Ltd Refund & Returns Policy
Bespoke Products
All cakes and baked goods from Empress Cakery Ltd are bespoke, made-to-order products tailored specifically to each customer.
Due to the perishable nature of our products and their customised design, we do not offer refunds, exchanges, or returns once a cake has been collected or delivered.
Upon Collection or Delivery
It is the customer’s responsibility to:
Inspect the cake at the point of collection or delivery
Confirm satisfaction before leaving the premises or accepting delivery
Once the cake has been collected or accepted, responsibility transfers to the customer.
We are not liable for any damage occurring after collection, including damage caused by transport, storage, or environmental conditions.
Issues or Concerns
If there is an issue with your order, you must notify us:
Within 24 hours of collection or delivery
With clear photographic evidence
Any concerns will be reviewed fairly and in line with consumer rights legislation.
Please note: Refunds will not be issued based on personal taste preferences.
Cancellation Reminder
Deposits are non-refundable.
Where an order is cancelled less than 7 days before the agreed date, the full balance may still be payable due to materials, preparation time, and lost booking opportunity.
